Magic Music Man

Scoil Phádraig Naofa was delighted to welcome back for a second year, Mr. Pádraig Wallace- manager of the ever popular ‘ Magic of Music’ programme.
The innovative and energetic programme is based on the New Revised Primary Music curriculum and caters for children of all age groups.
The main aim of the ‘Magic of Music’ is to make children laugh, smile and really enjoy themselves while they are learning many new musical concepts. True to its objective, that is indeed what Pádraig has achieved with the boys from Scoil Phádraig Naofa starting from Infants right up to 6 class.
Lessons were always fun with every child actively engaged. Pupils were exposed to a wide range of music genres and styles through stories, singing, performing, listening, composing and literacy. What’s more, Pádraig assisted in preparing the boys for the exciting and joyous Christmas concert.

The staff and pupils of Scoil Phádraig Noafa would like to wish Pádraig a very happy Christmas and to thank him for bringing the ‘Magic of Music’ to the school.

We are very lucky to have regular musicians who visit us. Diarmuid Grainger on the left plays the Ilen Pipes and the tin Whistle with the band Natural Gas. He has also taught here in second class.
On the right is Michael Heffernan who plays with the
Fuchsia Band. He teaches the boys recorder, guitar and tin whistle.

In 2007 following a visit by four members of the National Concert Orchestra to our school on a weeks workshop, the 6th class boys got a chance to visit their place of work. This was a huge honour for the boys as they got the chance to perform in the hall themselves.
