School Uniform & Lunches

School Uniform

Our school uniform shows children are part of our school community and we like to see them wear it with pride. We expect children to wear full uniform in school every day.

The school uniform consists of grey pants, blue shirt and navy round neck sweatshirt with school crest. A navy tracksuit bottom is worn on PE days. Footwear is at the discretion of the parents.

The sweatshirt with school crest is available from Don Murry’s, South Main Street, Bandon. Our Parents’ Association also hold pop up shops in June and August in the school hall. They buy plain navy jumpers and have them crested. The cost of these is €15 approx. Details on these pop-up shops are shared via text nearer the time.

Please label all jumpers and belongings such as lunchbox, jackets etc.

Mobile phones are not allowed in school.

School Lunches

Every child in our school can avail of a hot lunch in school each day. There is an extensive school menu that children can choose from and change as they wish. Each morning a snack arrives in school and a hot lunch is delivered later in the day.

Each child can select the meals they wish to eat each day and change from week to week if they wish. This is available to every child in the school and is free of charge. These meals are in line with government recommendations in terms of nutritional value and portion size and allergies can be catered for.

There is no need to send additional snacks or lunch for your child so that food is not wasted. School lunch is optional but we encourage all our children to avail of the service. No more preparing school lunches!

Some of the children in our school have nut allergies so we are a nut free school and we ask that any lunches that are prepared by parents are healthy. Treats may be allowed for special occasions but healthy lunch boxes are a must if you are providing your child’s lunch.
